The influences that affected the artist intellectually and artistically
The genetic factor played an essential role in her study of art. Although the artist’s father studied at Al-Azhar Al-Sharif, art took up a lot of his time. He also loved photography, but he was not fortunate enough to study art. She and three of her brothers also enrolled in the College of Fine Arts. .
Her father was interested in the educational process and artistic talents. He would gather them from a young age on the roof of the house or in an open place in circles and draw shapes and drawings for them in the form of paintings, then leave them with blank canvases and colors to unleash their imagination and each of them would draw what he wanted. “We drew our drawings from the inspiration of the environment.” .
Because she grew up in an artist’s house, she was introduced to all the tools currently used in drawing at the college since her childhood, such as the matter does not stop at just ordinary wooden colors and a drawing book like children, and her father’s library, which includes hundreds of books on art, religion, literature, and general culture, helped her in forming her personality and various concepts. Pointing out that we did not practice drawing or our favorite hobbies outside the home, but rather at home with our father.
Al-Sawy mentions that all of her sisters loved drawing, and three of them studied fine arts. She differed from them in her love of studying antiquities at first, but she chose to study fine arts based on her father’s wishes. In her studies, she showed great excellence, which made her excel in studying the art of sculpture, photography, and graphics in the various sections of the college. She was talented in the arts, as all the professors in the college encouraged her to succeed in these profound talents.
Her father’s support played a major role in her life, even before his death, which made her feel societal challenges. He would sit next to her when she painted any painting and advise her to modify or add to it. He expected a bright future for her in fine art and college as well, which encouraged her to complete her academic studies in college. After that you
In order to increase her artistic talent in this field.
She remembers that her father influenced her from a young age and formed her culture. When he traveled to another country, he would take pictures and different views of mountains, monuments, etc., and come and explain to them those views and in which country, so that we could form a visual vision and live in the picture so that we could draw something like it, and open our imagination to draw others. When she was young, she felt that going out with her father was an enjoyable trip. He explained to her the details of the streets, trees, etc. He also encouraged her from a young age to participate in competitions, in which she won first places.
Al-Sawy adds that one time she was sitting with her father watching the graduation ceremony of the top students at the Police College, and her father said to her: ‘Can you be so kind?’ So she said to him: ‘Pray for me, Father.’ Indeed, after she graduated from the College of Fine Arts, she got first place in the level at South Valley University, and she traveled to the Academy of Scientific Research in Cairo with her father, so the President of the Republic - at the time - President Mohamed Hosni Mubarak honored her in December 2012. She was very happy because this honor was her father’s wish because he was the one who helped her reach her goal.
Several months after her graduation, she was appointed as a teaching assistant at the Faculty of Fine Arts, Luxor University. She then completed her master’s degree in 2012, and then her doctorate.
