The artist, Manal Al-Dhuwaibi, is a graduate of the College of Pharmacy at King Saud University. She began her artistic career in 2018. She worked at the National Guard Hospital and the King Abdullah International Medical Research Center. She devoted herself to practicing art in 2020. She participated in many art exhibitions and won the second place award in the National Al-Habib Exhibition in The Saudi Center for Fine Arts in Jeddah. She is considered one of the most promising and serious artists in her artistic work, as she aspires to develop her artistic personality through her continuous practice and joining artistic courses specialized in fine art.
Saudi women in their old Najdi fashions in the past decades were the title of her works, as she said: (Najd women’s fashions and abayas from the seventies and early eighties are the source of my inspiration in my artistic works. I believe in the importance of highlighting the Saudi identity through popular heritage in these fashions, and the abaya in particular is a symbol of femininity. And the delicacy and flow with its silky texture, which has been ingrained in my memory since childhood and has created a deep inner meaning for me. I feel that every piece of clothing tells a unique story that reflects the personality, customs and traditions of the wearer. I work to present my artistic topic in an artistic style characterized by simplicity and spontaneity in performance, as I do not care about details as much as What I care about is the artistic expression of my topic and its impact on the recipient to interact and dialogue with him.
