Ostraca Announces "Here Cairo" (Huna Al-Qahira): A Gathering for Visual Arts, Cinema, and Music in March 2027, with the State of Palestine as Guest of Honor

Ostraca Arts & Development announces the organization of the "Here Cairo" (Huna Al-Qahira) event, taking place in Cairo from March 20 to 30, 2027. The event is open to Egyptian, Arab, and international artists, bringing together the disciplines of visual arts, cinema, and music.

The State of Palestine will serve as the event's guest of honor, celebrating diverse forms of Palestinian art and acknowledging its contributions to the Arab and global cultural landscape. This tribute recognizes art's role in expressing identity, preserving memory and heritage, and embodying values of life, hope, and belonging.

The event will showcase Palestinian art across various mediums—including visual arts, sculpture, cinema, and music—to highlight the diversity of Palestinian creative experiences and to provide a platform for artistic exchange and connection between Palestinian artists and their counterparts from Egypt and around the world.

"Here Cairo" draws inspiration from the city’s spirit, history, and cultural presence. It offers a space where artists from diverse generations, schools of thought, and cultures can meet; where artistic experiences coexist; and where a dialogue with the public is fostered regarding art and its relationship to people and place.

Participation is open across various visual art disciplines—including drawing, painting, sculpture, ceramics, graphic arts, photography, installation art, and mixed media—alongside cinema and music submissions, subject to the specific nature of each entry and established organizational and artistic guidelines. Through this event, Ostraca aims to foster connections between Egyptian artists and their international counterparts, provide a platform for showcasing contemporary artistic experiences, and encourage interaction among visual arts, cinema, and music within a diverse cultural program.

This initiative builds upon Ostraca’s established track record of organizing international art exhibitions, forums, and events—connecting creativity with place and building bridges for cultural and artistic exchange.

The company invites interested artists to submit their work and proposals for consideration within the program. Organizational details, application procedures, and program specifics will be announced in due course via Ostraca’s official channels.

All submissions are subject to the event's terms, conditions, and participation guidelines, as well as the established artistic and organizational selection and approval processes.

"Here is Cairo"… where the diverse languages of art are united by a single city.
