Sunday, June 15: The 45th General Exhibition Launches With confident steps toward observing the transformations of Egyptian art, the 45th edition of the General Exhibition launches on the evening of Sunday, June 15, 2025, at 7:00 PM, at the Palace of Arts and the Bab Hall in the Cairo Opera House Square. The event is under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Ahmed Fouad Heno, Minister of Culture, chaired by Prof. Dr. Walid Qanoush, Head of the Fine Arts Sector, and supervised by Prof. Dr. Iman Osama, General Commissar of the Exhibition. This year's exhibition features 421 artworks by 327 Egyptian artists, covering a variety of fields, including photography, drawing, engraving, sculpture, ceramics, photography, computer graphics, installation, kinetic performance, interactive art, and video art. These works reflect the most prominent trends and styles produced by artists over the previous two seasons, giving the edition a documentary character of the current state of Egyptian art. The 45th edition will honor a group of artists who have contributed to the visual arts movement, in addition to paying tribute to the late artists who have had a prominent presence in the contemporary Egyptian art scene. This year's exhibition highlights the breadth and diversity of Egyptian visual arts experience. It also provides the general public with an opportunity to view artistic productions that combine experimentation and authenticity, expressing the current cultural moment from multiple perspectives.
