Portraiture is the artistic expression of a person, capturing their outward appearance and essence. The history of this art goes back thousands of years, starting from the ancient Egyptian and Roman civilizations and reaching the Renaissance. Portraiture has become a prominent genre in the visual arts. Its importance lies in its ability to preserve identity, history and feelings, and allows artists to express the personality, mood and story of a person, making each portrait unique over time.
