The Meanest Kickstarter

The Meanest Kickstarter

Mashrabiya Gallery of Contemporary Art cordially invites you to Osama Ehab's first solo exhibition and first collaboration with the gallery, titled TheThe Meanest  Kickstarter
This exhibition draws a parallel between mechanical systems and human psychology through the concept of "exploitation." By juxtaposing the roles of mechanics and psychiatrists in his life, the artist reflects on how both professions can exploit the mechanics of dependency by convincing clients of the need for constant repairs and replacements, and psychiatrists, in the artist's experience, by prolonging treatment for financial gain.
At the core of this exploration is the artist's relationship with motorcycle engines, which constantly fail him, demanding constant maintenance and repair. This constant cycle of breakdown and dependency serves as a metaphor for the human experience, our psychological and emotional struggles, moments of inadequacy, and the recurring need for self-recovery.
Through this body of work, the artist questions the fragility of humans and machines, reflecting on how systems, whether mechanical or psychological, can be manipulated, and how the human condition reflects the vulnerability of the very machines upon which we depend. Join us for the opening, Sunday, April 6, at 6:00 PM. The exhibition continues until May 5.
