The first edition of "Culture Day"

The Ministry of Culture launches the first edition of "Culture Day" next Wednesday and a special celebration of the deceased creative icons

The Ministry of Culture confirmed that Culture Day, which will be held for the first time on Wednesday, January 8, will be dedicated to being a day to appreciate Egypt's creative icons, and will also be a day to honor those we lost during the year 2024, in the presence of their families and loved ones.

Culture Day will witness a grand celebration, directed by the great artist Khaled Galal, on the Grand Theater of the Egyptian Opera House.

The celebration includes honoring the names of a number of deceased artistic and cultural icons during 2024, who influenced the Egyptian scene with their immortal works, and among the honored names are: "The great artist Hassan Youssef, the artist Mustafa Fahmy, the writer and director Bashir Al-Deek, the artist Ahmed Adawiya, the artist Nabil Al-Halfawy, the poet Mohamed Ibrahim Abu Senna, the great artist Salah Al-Saadani, and the plastic artist Helmy Al-Tuni."
In this context, the Minister of Culture, Dr. Ahmed Fouad Hanno, stated during a press conference held at the Supreme Council of Culture, that the celebration of Culture Day came to be a national occasion to honor the makers of the Egyptian cultural identity, noting that this day will express culture in its broadest and most comprehensive sense.

The Minister explained that the selection of the honorees by the artistic unions and the Supreme Council of Culture committees was based on their distinguished career and contributions to consolidating Egypt's intellectual and creative identity.

He also pointed out that the Egyptian state aims to make Culture Day an annual tradition that highlights the achievements of distinguished citizens of the country and celebrates intellectual and creative symbols who have left a great impact on the history of Egyptian culture.

The Minister concluded his statements by emphasizing that celebrating Culture Day represents a commitment to appreciating cultural giving and documenting the artistic and intellectual legacy for future generations.
