Dr. Ahmed Fouad Hanno, Minister of Culture, inaugurated the 60th Cairo Salon, which comes under the slogan "100 Years of Creativity", and will continue until October 10. It is organized by the Fine Arts Lovers Association, headed by Dr. Ahmed Nawar, in cooperation with the Fine Arts Sector, headed by Dr. Walid Qanush, in the presence of Dr. Tarek El-Komy, Head of the Fine Arts Syndicate, Dr. Tarek Abdel Aziz, General Commissioner of the Salon, and a large number of artists participating in the Salon, in the halls of the Palace of Arts, in the square of the Egyptian Opera House. The Minister inspected the exhibition, which includes 175 artworks, including the works of the great artist El-Dessouki Fahmy and the great artist Helmy El-Touni, to honor them on the sidelines of the Salon, for what they have provided to the Egyptian fine arts movement throughout their long career. Dr. Ahmed Fouad Hanno, Minister of Culture, expressed his happiness at the opening of the 60th session of the "Cairo Salon", considering it an important artistic event that occupies a fundamental position among the most important artistic gatherings in Egypt, pointing out that interest in the arts reflects the progress of societies and enhances their cultural identity.

The Minister of Culture stressed that this salon has succeeded since its inception in being a vital platform for creativity and artistic innovation, as it has presented our cultural world with many new creations and talents that have contributed to enriching and enhancing the artistic and plastic movement.

Regarding the idea of ​​this year's exhibition, Dr. Tarek Abdel Aziz, the salon's general commissioner, said, "This "exceptional" session of the salon coincides with the celebrations of the Fine Arts Lovers Association of its centenary. Artist Dr. Ahmed Nawar, the association's president, suggested that this session be a celebration of that centenary, and it was decided to include museum works by icons of Egyptian fine art throughout its history, who participated with their creativity in the "Cairo Salon" sessions since its inception, such as: Mahmoud Said, Bikar, Ahmed Sabry, Youssef Kamal, Mohamed Sedky El-Gabakhangy, Hussein Fawzy, Ramses Younan, Margaret Nakhl, Engy Aflatoun, El-Gazzar, Sobhy Ragheb, Seif and Adham Wanly, Ragheb Ayad, Hamed Neda, and El-Sejiny.

In order for the association's president to ensure the continuity of generations, artists who won the grand prizes in the "Youth Salon" through its successive sessions, which has been organized annually by the Fine Arts Sector since 1989, were invited.
