Rozanna Amin Mansouri is a visual artist who graduated from Marshall University in West Virginia in 2012. She specializes in art and graphic design. She loves drawing, reading, and swimming. She founded the Rosanna Gallery at the Adham Arts Center in Jeddah to train women and children and create personal and group exhibitions.
-Your artistic beginnings... I started drawing when I joined the university in America, specializing in art and graphic design in 2006. I studied and took several plastic courses to learn everything new in the art of drawing. I painted the first painting by the late artist (Mounia), a sunset painting, at university, and I graduated in 2012 AD. I returned to my homeland. -Your art school you belong to... Art schools are diverse and beautiful, and I move like a butterfly from one teacher to another, merging one school with the other, but I love the expressive and realistic school.
-Your artistic role model! I was influenced by world-class artists, most notably the French artist (Mounia), the artist (Pablo Picasso), the Syrian artist (Lamis Al-Hamawi), and the wonderful, kind-hearted artist (Ghadeer Hafez), one of the Arab artists whose paintings I love.
-The artistic style that you are comfortable with... I use the expressive school that makes me soar in the sky of art and express beautiful things and stories.
-Your contributions and exhibitions in which you participated locally and abroad. She participated in many local and foreign exhibitions, including France, America, and the local Riyadh.
-Which art schools are currently prevalent... and why? One of the currently prevailing schools is the abstract and influence school.
-Is there a difference in tactics between paintings of women and men? Yes, there is a difference in technique and color strokes.
-What is the most prominent feature of your paintings? It is fictional, with a different character, carrying the Andalusian style, and I like to highlight the beauty of Arab women in plastic art in the style of the Expressionist school, using oil colors in my paintings and different sizes. I produced a collection of stories (One Thousand and One Nights) in 2019 with this Expressionist school, and I will hold my second personal exhibition with a new series. In its beautiful appearance, in oil colors, in the same expressive school.
Tell us about a favorite painting of yours... The first beautiful artistic painting I painted in 2019 AD, measuring one meter by a square meter, and I called it (Queen Scheherazade). It was acquired by the distinguished professor (Zuhair Shawli) and it received the approval and admiration of many connoisseurs.
-Can visual art address societal issues? Yes, everyone can draw and express in one way or another.
– Where is the women’s plastic movement in the Kingdom heading? The artistic movement has developed significantly, and exhibitions have flourished and increased in the Kingdom, praise be to God.
