Artistic biography Aqila Nouri Al-Sakhen, a visual artist born in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia - Eastern Province - Dhahran 1998 Holds a diploma in insurance and risk management from Imam Abdulrahman bin Faisal University in Dammam 2020 - Dhahran She joined many art courses since 2009 and then began actual participation in 2016 With more than 25 local and international participations. The most prominent of which is a residence at the Gulf Symposium Forum in Bahrain 2023
Artistic Statement Aqeela learned the ABCs of drawing at an early age. She used to spend her time as a hobby drawing in a small space behind the stairs of the house. She was no more than five years old at the time. All she had to do was paint and paper on this journey, and this stage that preceded her entry into the world of study. Her drawings caught the attention of her peers during her primary school years, and her features indicated a lot of promise for a girl at the beginning of her artistic journey. They were drawings full of life and diversity, benefiting from her proximity to that quiet coast overflowing with the unique environmental diversity that the Eastern Province in particular enjoys. She was visually saturated with the surrounding environment and aroused in her an artistic sensitivity to the aesthetics of the place and its contradictions, with its mixed feelings, and its conditions that change with the seasons and days. Aqila has a share of the fragrance of the earth, the purity of the water, and the wonder of the harvest seasons. She draws from here and there her artistic lexicon and her favorite subjects. Her imagination takes her to the sky, but she does not forget to return to the earth, where her roots extend deep into history, and the depth of the sea burdens her memory with images, imaginations, and beautiful memories.
