A Saudi sculptor was able to draw a creative map in the world of sculpture, when he specialized in carving figures of purebred Arabian horses, and other figures of Arabic calligraphy, relying on his skill in transforming wooden pieces into dazzling pieces of art.
Sculptor Ali Al-Jasser, who holds a BA in art education and a certificate of experience in the field of carpentry from the Institute of Technical Education and Vocational Training, who graduated from the Institute of Art Education, told Al-Arabiya.net about his love for sculpture, and his production of many works in which he participated in many internal exhibitions. And foreign affairs in Tunisia, Algeria, Kuwait, the Emirates and Oman.
He also said: "I was honored in international participations, including the International Wood Day in America 2016 AD, and the International Wood Day in Austria in Graz 2019 AD, and my honoring at the Expo 965 Forum in Kuwait in 2018 and 2019 AD, and my participation in the Sambous Forum Elite Day in Hail 1440 And I had a participation in the first Gulf sculptors forum in the Kingdom of Bahrain 2019 AD in cooperation with the World Wood Organization, and I participated in the G20 forum in Riyadh 2020 AD.
He also added: "My most important participation was in China, which is carving on roots, and I was chosen as the sole representative at the level of the Arabs, and the number of participating artists was fifteen artists from around the world. I also presented a number of training courses at the Wenzhou Academic Institute in China."
He stressed during his speech, "The art of sculpture requires patience, strength, and accuracy in work. Some works, especially realistic works that cannot tolerate error, must know the details of all sculpting tools, familiarity with their tasks, and knowledge of the task of each tool, and also wooden hammers have different weights, and each hammer is used according to The hardness of the wood to be carved on, as my works carry a clear Islamic message, and I am always keen to mix them with forms of popular heritage through Arabic writings and letters, in addition to Islamic and heritage motifs.
Regarding the most important aspirations of Saudi sculptors, Al-Jasser said: “There is a need for a platform for sculpture and sculptors, in the absence of clear support for this art, as is the case in different plastic arts. There is a platform and training courses for talents through their leadership and the development of their shorthand skills. to the world through this great art.
