Duaa Al-Hajj is a Sudanese visual artist, born in 1997 in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. She holds a diploma in Business Administration.
It was my beginning in art since childhood, and after that I developed it through self-education, and I also received support and encouragement from the artists of the city of Abha, in addition to the support of family and friends.
Nature and the atmosphere of the beautiful city of Abha have always been inspiring to practice all kinds of art, and heritage inspires me with ideas and feelings to paint paintings with all their charming colors and decorations.
Yes, it is the African calligraphy, because it expresses my culture and my unique heritage, and the diversity of colors and costumes and the different regions and tribes make artistic inspiration flow deeply inside me, which I then embody in my own artistic style on all my paintings.
I was influenced by several schools, the most prominent of which was the abstract, influential and expressionist school, because I always found freedom of expression in them.
In fact, there is no particular artist that influenced me a lot, but in general, I always like to see the works of international and Arab artists on an ongoing basis, to get to know them and develop my skills through them.
Sudan has been considered one of the leading countries in the field of plastic art for a long time, as it is the one that brought out most of the international artists, such as the artist Ibrahim El-Salahi, the artist Shebrin, Dr. Rashid Diab, and the creative artist Kamala, and Sudan continues to produce promising and creative artists to this day.
I held my first personal exhibition of African art and culture in 2021, and I also participated in the exhibition (Misk al-Funun) and the (Permanent Bisha) exhibition in 2019, in addition to the exhibition (Balance of Calligraphy) at the University of Culture and Arts in 2018.
Yes, to a certain extent, through my participation in exhibitions and events, and I got a good reputation because what I present is considered new art in the southern region, and I also have several acquisitions of my works in addition to that I was invited from King Khalid University to present a course on plastic art and those interested in it. I also participated in presenting my talent in MBC Academy.
In addition to my hobby of painting, I am inclined to handicrafts and playing the guitar. I also love horseback riding, photography and reading.
I intend to participate in local and international exhibitions and provide training courses to spread my culture more widely.
My ambition is to reach the world through plastic art, with a new, distinctive and unique African template.
