Ali Al-Takhis is a Saudi sculptor and artist, born in the Al-Dawadmi governorate of the Riyadh region in 1956 AD (1376 AH). He is a founding member of the Al-Dawadimi group of plastic artists, and is considered one of the Saudi pioneers in the field of sculpture. He represented Saudi Arabia in many international forums and won important awards, including the Ankara Biennale Award in Turkey in 1986 AD, and the honorary award at the Arab Creativity Festival in Egypt in 2004 AD. He has artworks and sculptures in public squares in Beirut, Dubai and Muscat. In 2019, he culminated his artistic career in sculpture by designing and carving the cornerstone of the Diriyah Gate project.
