A Saudi plastic artist transforms ancient rock inscriptions into distinctive artistic paintings
A Saudi plastic artist managed to transform the ancient rock inscriptions in the Kingdom into wonderful paintings.
Plastic artist Ali Al-Sharif said, in a television interview, that he turned these inscriptions into distinctive paintings, in order to display them in a miniature museum.
He said that he was interested, since his childhood, in rock inscriptions, for a number of reasons, including documenting such works and preserving them in an easy and tangible way, indicating that the kingdom's antiquities are mostly scattered in the mountains and difficult to access and view.
He added that he decided to establish a small museum that owns a mural that includes several paintings that tell about industry, agriculture and trade, during the ancient civilizations in the Kingdom.
Al-Sharif explained that he seeks to collect the works in a place available for viewing, so that everyone can enjoy them and learn about the ancient Saudi culture.
