Artistic beginnings

At that time, I was a lot of reading and traveling, and I brought many books with me from abroad, in addition to colours. During that period, I was traveling to Arab countries such as Egypt and Iraq. And I remember that the first booklet (calligraphy) I acquired was for the Iraqi calligrapher Hashim Muhammad al-Baghdadi, and it was in Iraq, specifically in the year in which the calligrapher al-Baghdadi died (1973), so that I kept for a long time a clipping of the news of his death in London when he was supervising the printing of the Qur’an. Before high school, my dream was to study in Florence, because this Italian city is historically the source of the Renaissance in Europe. Indeed, after completing secondary school, I tried to obtain a scholarship and sought that, and I met Prince Faisal bin Fahd, may God have mercy on him, and he responded to my request.
