She holds a PhD in Politics and International Relations, as well as a Master’s in Diplomatic Studies from Brunel University / London in the United Kingdom, as well as a BA in Comparative Literature from the American University / Paris in France. Also, Sawsan Al-Sajjan is a certified trainer from the Technical and Vocational Training Corporation, as well as from the Deanship of Development and Skills Development at Princess Noura Bint Abdul Rahman University. After her return to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Sawsan Al-Sajjan worked as a director of the Social Programs Department at the College of Social Work for a short period, after which she decided to devote herself entirely as a professional artist.
She loved colors since her childhood, and her love for arts deepened during her travels around the world to study and work, where she got to know different civilizations, arts and cultures from all over the world, which she spent accompanying her husband in his diplomatic work. Her passion for art was deepened by studying art as an elective subject during her academic studies. This momentum of different cultures and civilizations was manifested in her love for heritage and in her paintings depicting the archaeological sites in the Kingdom in particular “Diriyah”, which is the center and symbol of governance for the Saudi state, in bright and vibrant colors that captivate the viewer’s heart and imagination, as well as in various artistic styles, including magical realism and figurative expressionism
The artist's style is characterized by strong, bright colors that give life and beauty to her traditional paintings, as well as to her other abstract expressionist line of art.
