Kawthar Al-Husseini, a plastic artist, holds several certificates, including Modern arts and ideas, graphic design, and resin art. I am currently developing myself by delving deeper into abstract art.
When did your talent for drawing begin to show itself? And who discovered these tendencies in you?
The features of talent began to appear at a very young age, at the age of about five, but it clearly emerged at the age of nine, but I was not aware that I had talent until I reached secondary school.
My mother discovered my talent early and she used to say to me: “I know you have a beautiful talent and I know that you are really special.” My father, my older sister, and my brother also played a role in discovering and supporting me.
Which topics do you like to express through drawing?
I really like surrealism; As I express it more than abstract or realistic, I also express by drawing eyes as they express more even when making a call or listening to someone talking or navigating in my thoughts I find myself drawing eyes in minute details.
Is there a color that tempts you, or are they composite colors?
I like very dark colours. I like brown, brick, blue and so on.
What is your favorite material to draw on and why?
I use several colors such as oil, acrylic, pastels of all kinds, charcoal, lead, gouache, etc. and several panels such as canvas, paper, whether reinforced or not, cardboard, wood, gypsum, walls, glass, etc. and digital painting, but oil colors are among the best colors I have used in my life, and I think they are the ones that stand out An artist's strength, and wood is one of the best boards for painting.
You participated in many art exhibitions, tell us about the most important of these posts?
I held a personal exhibition entitled (Kaf), on August 30, 2022, and it was the most important event that happened to me in my artistic life. There are participations in joint exhibitions, but the most important for me is my participation in the Eva Art Exhibition in Hail and the 50*50 exhibition in Al-Khobar.
Is there a specific atmosphere that the painter and artist must find and create for himself in order to be able to paint?
I think that every artist has his own atmosphere, but about me, I like to paint in complete calmness and a certain mood, as I cannot paint when I am (sad or very happy) and a secluded room away from interruptions or sounds, and I like to hear novels or audio books while drawing and having A cup of coffee is very important.
Who draws your attention from artists, whether local or international?
Unfortunately, it is very rare for anyone to catch my eye, but there is an artist named Aisha Al-Arifi from the city of Hail, the artist Sabah Al-Dhafiri from Saudi Arabia, and the creative artist Abdul Halim Al-Baqshi.
Has the Saudi plastic artist reached the position that befits her?
Yes, the Saudi artist has reached the position that befits her, and today the Saudi artist has reached the world and is competing with international artists.
What about your hobbies other than drawing?
I am good at many talents, such as calligraphy, photography, and works such as resin, gypsum, journal art, graphic design, and fashion design, but not all of my talents come from education. But some of them are a hobby.
What are your future plans?
My future plans I keep to myself.

I aspire to build my own school to teach drawing to the handicapped and children.
