The influences that were reflected on the artist intellectually and artistically
Aziz is an artist of diversified production, who practices the art of oil painting and graphics, and produces ceramics and pottery. In all of this, he relies on the inspiration of the popular character and the expression of life in the countryside. His works echo Pharaonic art with features of Coptic art, and he collected them in a special and distinctive style. With its distinctive features, and gaining new characteristics from him to link it to the heritage, he cares about the decorations of clothes and the background, using comfortable, balanced colors to draw the same decorative units that popular art is famous for.
The peculiarity of Sayed Abd al-Rasul comes in the compilation of three axes in his art.
The first axis is clearly influenced by Professor Ragheb Ayad, which is the objective side.
- The second axis is influenced by the Pharaonic art in terms of the method of moving shapes on the walls of tombs, which is related to human recipes and the external contour of the shape.
The third axis is his influence on the famous Italian artist / Massimo Campelli, which is apparent in the darkening of spaces, the rough surface texture and the soft gradation. Sayed Abd al-Rasoul’s view of things was a reductive view that summarized the form from its original elements and rebuilt it again with an objective meaning that highlights its plastic value, as it connects the form with the act of abstraction that connects it. To the field of plausibility, and that the absence of the natural and its scenes in its true realistic forms constituted the style of his middle stage, but he traced its impact in his simple and enjoyable style in his last stage, emphasizing its presence within the artistic space and recording it in order to perform its semantic function and monitor its aesthetic relationship in a realistic style permeated by folklore visions of things.
Sayed Abd al-Rasul remained faithful to the method of art with abundant production, and many artists followed his way in terms of their choice of popular themes, aspects of celebrations or tattoos, and the capture of angles that justify the aesthetics of these manifestations. Solo and a self-contained artistic figure that has all the elements of its integration and immortality among the contemporary arts of Egypt, drawing from the ancient and spontaneously popular Pharaonic forms of a new art that tells the history of human art. It will continue long after our farewell to the great artist.
