Abdul Hameed bin Ali Al-Baqshi is a Saudi plastic artist, born in Al-Ahsa, Saudi Arabia, in 1950 AD.

The plastic artist belongs to the Al-Baqshi family, which resides in Al-Ahsa, Dammam and Bahrain, and it is an ancient family. Part of the Al-Baqshi family migrated to Iraq and their name was changed to the Zuhair family. They live in the Basra region in Iraq.

His artistic talent started from a young age. He joined the Institute of Art Education in Riyadh, and obtained a scholarship to the United States of America to study plastic arts, and worked as a teacher of art education in Al-Ahsa before devoting himself entirely to drawing.

In 2003, Al-Baqshi finished his one-element drawing experiment, which he started with 4 years ago, and started experimenting with pencil drawing.
In 2004, Al-Baqshi began an experiment in which he dealt with the Arabic letter according to his visual vision, and the meaning he achieves related to place and man.

The artist refrained from participating in local exhibitions, and contented himself with a few of them at the level of his city, Al-Ahsa, justifying Al-Baqshi’s lack of interest in artworks, especially because his works were damaged, tires were broken, and even some were lost.
Honors
Honoring the artist in the fifth session of the Festival of Arab Pioneers and Creators organized by the League of Arab States in Doha from 27 to 29 November, as part of the activities of Doha, Capital of Arab Culture for the year 2010.
