Muhannad Shono is a Saudi visual artist, born in Riyadh in 1977. He is an artist whose interest is divided between drawing, storytelling and photography. He has held many art exhibitions inside and outside Saudi Arabia, most notably the exhibition “Yum’s Children” in Jeddah 2016, and the “Once Upon a Time Fund” exhibition in London. He won the Visual Arts Award in the second cycle of the National Cultural Awards Initiative in 2022.

He holds a Bachelor's degree in Architectural Engineering from King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals.
Exhibitions and participations
He held the exhibition “Yum’s Children” at the “Athar” Gallery in Jeddah in 2016.
He participated in the fourth and seventh editions of Jeddah Art Exhibition 21.39, under the title Travel 2017, and in the seventh edition 2019 AD, entitled O Earth.
He was chosen for several artistic residencies in Europe, such as: Kuestzidenz in Badgastein, Austria 2017. and artists in the laboratory in Zurich, Switzerland, 2017.
Some of his works were acquired by the British Museum in London and the Hirschhorn Museum in Washington.
Participated in the Diriyah Biennial (2021-2022).
Representing Saudi Arabia at the 2022 Venice Biennale.
