Ibrahim Al-Khabrani, born in 1973 AD, is a Saudi visual artist residing in the city of Riyadh. He is considered one of the most prominent artists of the younger generation in the Saudi profession. He has many international participations, and held a personal exhibition in 2013 AD called “Transcendence” at the International Arts Hall in Jeddah. He also won many international and local awards, most notably: - (2014) Seventh Place Award in the Fifth Al-Safir Fine Arts Competition (Riyadh). - (2013) First Place Award (Gulf Palme d’Or), Gulf Cooperation Council Visual Arts Forum (Sultanate of Oman). (2013) Jury Prize at the First Arab Gulf Festival for Contemporary Fine Art (Riyadh). (1013) First place award at the Small Business Market Exhibition of the Ministry of Culture and Information (Jeddah). - (2010) First place award in the first art exhibition for young artists. (2009) Excellence Award (third place) at the 19th Annual General Exhibition of the Culture and Arts Society in Medina. Many Saudi and Arab critics wrote about him, including the Egyptian critic Dr. Bassem Tawfiq, who wrote about the works of the artist Al-Khabrani, saying: The artistic experience is the truest expression of the development of plastic technique, and this is what we find in the work of the artist Ibrahim Al-Khabrani, who tries to use white spaces in the painting to stand out. The part is painted in black, dividing his painting into two halves: the first half represents this part of the face to express ambiguity and confusion, but in the lower part it also moves towards abstract implications that may have a close relationship with the half of the face drawn at the top of the painting. In an in-depth look at the face, we find that Al-Khabrani is trying to express surreal traditions to express the usefulness of the white spaces in the painting. Therefore, we consider that the development of the artist's permanent techniques often results in a bright plastic idea.
