My artistic journey:
I started drawing as a child, on scraps of paper and the walls of our old house, with lines, drawings, and scribbles, which played a major role in a family atmosphere filled with brothers who had the same inclinations in developing this hobby.
Then the first prominence was in the first year of school during the first art education session, the subject of which was the Saudi flag, which I drew in its wavy shape, while the students were drawing it in a rectangular shape. In the third grade of primary school, I joined the Evening Art Education Society - even though it was designated for the higher levels - and continued there until the intermediate stage, and in the intermediate stage, I obtained first place twice in a row at the level of the Unayzah education district in the years 1399-1400 AH. Then followed a period of interruption in secondary school. At the university, I returned again with oil colors, and at that time I was suffering from shortcomings and weakness in dealing with colors... In the year 1406 AH, I applied to participate in some of my works and got fourth place, then I joined the university studio in the following year, 1407 AH, and during that year two of my paintings were sent to Dhahran to participate. At the Second Cultural Week Exhibition for Saudi Universities, held at King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals... and in the midst of my dreams of obtaining an advanced position in my university, I was surprised by the lightning bolt of winning first place among the Saudi universities... After that, I was reassured that I would come first in the university for the same year... Then I succeeded the following year, 1408 AH. Get the same position. After I graduated from the university in 1409 AH, I joined the teaching profession and returned to my city of Unayzah. I became a member of the Saleh bin Saleh Cultural Center and then a member of the Unayzah Plastic Artists Group. My first meeting was with the most prominent artists of Unayzah, such as the plastic artist Saleh Al-Naqidan, Nader Al-Otaibi, Ali Al-Naqidan, Khaled Al-Suwayna, Abdullah Al-Hajji and others. We represented together. Onaizah in a number of international and local forums, including my winning first place in the fourteenth Saudi Contemporary Art Exhibition held in Riyadh in 1418 AH... Almost two years before this year, I had completely stopped painting in oils. I created a veteran orphan painting that I called (Al-Shuaib) with which I began for more than Twelve years and I finished it approximately in the year 1428 AH - other than that, I have stopped, except with regard to some quick drawings such as sketches and drawings related to educational curricula, and I find in the school blackboard an opportunity to practice my hobby, which is accepted by a fair number of my students.
In Ramadan of the year 1435 AH, I returned to drawing again, praise be to God, and I have some paintings since then, and I hope for God’s success.
