Hanadi Al-Darwish - Qatar Visual artist Hanadi Al-Darwish, founder of Hessa Arts House, speaks in an interview about her projects and participation in international demonstrations. Her love for her mother, Hessa, prompted her to name her project after her as a symbol of her belonging to Gulf traditions. The story began through paintings in which she used her mother’s clothes, especially the famous “tournament” cover. Among Qatari women, this idea developed into a full exhibition entitled “Who is the Memory? Share” at the Boushahri Gallery in Kuwait in 2017. Al-Darwish confirms that Qatari plastic art is witnessing great development and that she contributed to raising it to the international level. She participated in the celebration of National Day. Qatari and in the 2022 World Cup activities. The arts enhance beauty and culture in Qatari society, and believe that the role of women artists is of great importance. She discovered her talent in elementary school and received support from art education teachers. She loves the Arabic letter and uses it to add a unique aesthetic touch.
