As a Saudi veterinarian, he graduated from university to work in a specialized center for horses, after which he discovered his talent in visual art, to be one of the pioneers of this specialized art on a global level, in showing the beauty of the purebred Arabian horse. Saudi visual artist Ibrahim Balhamar spoke to Al Arabiya.net by saying: “I have had the talent for drawing since childhood, but I never paid attention to it, and when I graduated from Cairo University with a specialty in veterinary medicine and worked at the King Abdul Aziz Center for Arabian Horses.” To treat injured horses, my passion began with purebred Arabian horses, which made me rearrange myself to discover my artistic talent and draw the beauty of the horses in my imagination into reality.” Regarding the beginnings, Al-Hamar confirmed that the first work he completed was in 1996 AD, when he used materials that were not suitable for drawing, due to his great ignorance of the world of art, which included using the sail of a popular tent in artistic works, and diluting strong colors with diesel, but his great keenness to learn art so that He translates his love for horses and their details onto the artistic canvas with his own perspective, making him overcome this stage quickly until he became one of the pioneering Saudi artists in the field of drawing horses.
Painting by artist Ibrahim Al-Hamar Support Saudi art The Al-Hamar artist presented a development proposal aimed at contributing to supporting authentic Saudi art, by highlighting their works to advance them to new horizons that serve their goals and artistic future that they mapped out at the beginning of their artistic career.
Al-Hamar said while participating in his personal exhibition at the Historic Jeddah Festival held in the center of the country in Jeddah Governorate: “I propose to the Saudi Ministry of Culture to create personal files for all Saudi artists, which will serve as a CV for each artist, and then they will be sorted and evaluated by a specialized committee, so that these files become... The files are for reference to the Ministry of Culture so that they can be nominated to participate in international exhibitions and forums inside and outside the Kingdom, to best represent our dear homeland, based on their historical works and the extent of their knowledge of art and its mysteries.”
Al-Hamar said: “One of the reasons for my continued artistic work is the motivation that I found from a number of personalities dear to my heart and to the heart of every Saudi, including King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz, may God have mercy on him, who told me (this artist only goodness comes from him), and King Salman.” Bin Abdulaziz, who said, “This young man is a genius in his art,” in addition to a number of important figures and great artists in the Arab world.
Al-Hamar said, “I have approximately 900 artistic paintings of Arabian horses and popular houses, which reflect the ancient culture and history of Saudi Arabia, and I aim to reach 1,000 paintings to obtain the Guinness World Certificate as the first artist to paint this number of paintings, and then I will create a special exhibition called “Exhibition.” 1,000 paintings,” he added, “but one of my most important works, which I consider to be a beacon for my artistic career, which has spanned about 26 years, is the design of the King Abdulaziz Equestrian Cup.”
Paintings decorate royal palaces He confirmed, “I have a number of artistic paintings that adorn the royal palaces in Saudi Arabia. A large collection of my art collections are in the royal palaces, including the palaces of King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz, King Salman bin Abdulaziz, Prince Sultan bin Abdulaziz, Prince Miteb bin Abdullah bin Abdulaziz, and Prince Abdulaziz.” Bin Fahd bin Abdulaziz, and Prince Abdulaziz bin Ahmed bin Abdulaziz, in addition to a number of names of princes in Saudi Arabia.
