Zahra Khalaf Poet and visual artist Member of the Culture and Arts Association Certified trainer
Zahra Khalaf is an artist of fine miniatures. We see in her paintings the attention to detail that is precise and deep at the same time. We see in one of her paintings the details of the Arab dagger that is decorated and the shapes and formations associated with it. Despite her precision, she does not forget the compositional depth and the exchange of colors, as if we were with a sweet symphony in which the color brown and the color yellow or orange. Other colors combine with trimmings and decorative formations, as if we are viewing one of the mosques or basements that reflect the splendor of Islamic architecture and art in most or most of its countries. She is an artist with deep roots in an ancient civilization. We admire this artist who puts us directly in front of our rich past, and we admire her for this pure artistic creativity.
When we go to her other painting, we see the same care for minute details, as if she was using a microscope in her drawing, and we find the beauty of the painting in the interaction of colors that parallel the playing of rocks in the Arabian desert, or a piece of rug, or a snapshot of reed clothing. We dive into the painting and get lost, intoxicated by the beauty of the painting. We find the color space as if it were the river in the middle, flowing as if it were one of the rivers of eternity. We look at it and get lost and feel that we are living another world, an ethereal world that we adore and do not want to leave. The color at the heart of the painting is the cream color or the white color, which indicates the flow of serenity despite the darkness of the surroundings or the difficult circumstances in an interaction that reflects the life that we live and observe.
