Artist Wael Nour resides in Luxor Governorate and considers it a source of his inspiration. However, the exhibition’s paintings also reflect the environment in Fayoum. Circumstances allowed the artist to visit her artistically.
Wael Nour is an Egyptian artist, born in April 1979. He graduated from the Faculty of Art Education in 1999. He studied under the late artist Bakhit Farrag, a pioneer of watercolors. He graduated from the Faculty of Art Education in 1999. He held many private and group exhibitions inside and outside Egypt. He has private collections in many countries.
Wael Nour’s paintings evoke scenes of Egyptian nature, vibrant with bright colors. That distinguishes southern Egypt, continuing his path of relying on the classic technique of the Expressionist school, which was adopted by many pioneers of plastic art. In his paintings you will find attention to every detail, starting from the color gradations and meanders of the earth, passing through the details of architecture and people. Their features and clothes, even the writings that adorn the shops, give the painting nostalgic dimensions. Artist Wael Nour participated in many private and group exhibitions inside and outside Egypt. He graduated from the College of Art Education in 1999.
Light and shadows know their way well in Wael Nour’s paintings. He controls his brush, embodying the countryside at the “succulent” time with faint sunlight, giving you the green patch, as if you were viewing it through a high-quality photograph, then transporting you in front of the statue of Memnon on the western mainland, brilliantly embodying the dimensions and details. You will also see the calm Nile as a lifeline between the eastern and western shores of the City of Kings.
Wael Nour’s paintings know how to stir the conscience towards Egyptian nature kneaded with the silt of the Nile, but he does not paint it according to purely artistic standards, but rather with an overwhelming sense of his Egyptianness and his pride in it, and despite his interest in drawing silent nature “landscapes”, you only see people a little, but every painting speaks. The voice of nature, sending a message of peace and nostalgia for a quiet life away from the hustle and bustle of technology and cities. The recipient will find a scent in the blue color flowing between earthy yellow, gray and olive tones.
