Hala Al-Nasser is a Saudi journalist, writer, and visual artist. A pioneer in the field of Saudi women's journalism with more than twenty years of experience, and she is considered the first Saudi woman to hold the position of editor-in-chief.

She started her journalistic activities by working as a co-editor at the office of Asharq Al-Awsat newspaper in Riyadh in 1991, then moved on to work as an editor at Sayidaty magazine. In 1994, she was appointed editor-in-chief of Sayidaty magazine and director of its office in Riyadh. She was appointed in 2006 as the editor-in-chief of Rotana Magazine, and after two years of her work at Rotana, she submitted a request for resignation, but it was rejected. Honored by the University of Cambridge as one of the most influential media personalities in the Arab world. She has a printed book that chronicles an important era in the history of Saudi media under the name “Shaherazade in the Saudi Press.” It sparked controversy upon its publication in 2006, as it monitors the history of the Saudi women’s press and the difficulties it faced. She published her second book, “Auras,” by the Emirati “Madarik” publishing house, in March 2014.
